The future of Gambling. Is it a sport or addiction. Needs Control or Banning
People do have the tendency to have selective memory and that is what makes gambling look so new. Take a few steps behind and think. What is gambling at the end of the day? You will realize is that it a form of entertainment which includes wagering. Like when you
play casino games with friends every once per week or spin the slots for a nickel bet or even if you go to your local book office to play lottery tickets. People engage in these activities for the same reasons they go out and have drinks and get drunk, they need a change in their everyday routine people they feel the need to sense that they are alive.
Gambling is surely not the problem, although everybody considers this word so evil. It is the unregulated side of it that makes it look so evil and the people that take advantage of its many angles to make money out of addicted people. Regulated gambling can develop to be an accepted form of entertainment. The authorities think they can control it by banning it altogether. Well the news is that they are only making it worse, the real effect would take place if they went out of their way to control it, because lets face it, banning it does not solve the issue.
The silly side of it is that they think, that they have resolved the problem by issuing a silly legislation about it. Well to me, it sounds similar like telling a child he can’t have his candy.
Either bitter or sweet the truth is that gambling has existed for as long as prostitution has and although it can become an addiction the most reasonable thing to do about it is face it, facing it means controlling it. It might need effort but that’s why the authorities receive money from tax payers and if they really can’t remember the reasons, I will take the time and hint them out to them. Taxes are paid to ensure that there are enough funds to pay the people that serve the general welfare and the general prosperity.
